Gr12 titanium tube is a high-performance titanium alloy tube. The following is a detailed introduction to it:
1, Material and Composition
Gr12 titanium alloy is a near alpha alloy developed to improve the crevice corrosion resistance of pure titanium, also known as TA10 or titanium molybdenum nickel alloy. It contains 0.3% molybdenum (Mo) and 0.8% nickel (Ni), and the addition of these elements not only strengthens the alloy, but also gives it good resistance to high temperature, low pH chloride or weak reducing acid crevice corrosion. In addition, Gr12 titanium alloy may also contain trace amounts of elements such as iron (Fe), carbon (C), nitrogen (N), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O) to meet specific performance requirements.
2, Physical and mechanical properties
Density: The density of Gr12 titanium alloy is relatively low, ranging from 4.51g/cm ³ to 4.54g/cm ³, which makes it widely used in fields such as aerospace that require lightweight materials.
Melting point: Its melting point is relatively high, generally between 1632 ° C and 1660 ° C, and the specific value may vary slightly depending on different sources.
Coefficient of thermal expansion: Gr12 titanium alloy has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and is suitable for applications in high-temperature environments.
Strength: It has excellent tensile strength and yield strength, with a tensile strength of 483MPa and a yield strength of 345MPa.
Plasticity: With a high elongation rate of about 18%, it has good process plasticity and welding performance.
3, Corrosion resistance
Gr12 titanium alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and can withstand various chemical media, including acids, bases, chloride ions, and seawater. The addition of nickel enhances the crack corrosion resistance of titanium in hydrochloric acid solution and high-temperature high chloride ion solution, while the addition of molybdenum improves its corrosion resistance in reducing medium. This makes Gr12 titanium alloy widely used in fields such as chemical and marine engineering that require corrosion-resistant materials.
